Yoga should be one of the best practices to understand that there is no such Guru to ''follow''. Yoga is all about liberation from maya, the illusions which are limiting us. The Yogi knows that people, animals, nature and destiny are all teachers and none of them has a bigger importance than the other one. As in a yoga class, when the teacher shows the Asana, perhaps she can put the head behind the legs , but you are responsable to know what's your limit: Maybe you can barely touch the floor, in that case you know that you should stop there and it's just fine, that's what you need. A yogi knows that this is the same in life; a person with more experience might indicate a methodology, but you are responsable to take out of it what is good for you.
At the moment when you know that you are conscient & at the present moment enough to understand who/what could be a right inspiration for you and how much of it you need you are your own Guru. You are the one tracing your own path.
The path of yoga is all about discovering step by step the Guru whithin you while learning to be grateful to all existence which is enlighting us every day.
